Tridays 24.06. - 26.06.2011
wegen des Feiertages am Donnerstag 23.06 starten wir mit dem Programm schon früher :-)
Schöne Grüße von unserer finnischen Freunden:
Dear Uli, Ingrid and everyone else we got to know,
FIN-RUN has returned home after the Tridays adventure. All 58 members of the FIN-RUN got safely home and it's time to write a short summary of the trip.
I must say, that it is a little bit difficult for me to find the words to describe what we have experienced, it was such an unbelievable success. But I will try my best.
First the weather, beautiful sunny days and warm nights instead of promised rain and cold. That could have alone been enough to put a big smile on everyone's face, but that was just the beginning.
You know, I knew Tridays as an event from last year, so I had an idea what to expect. But the others, you should have seen them and you should have heard their ?camp-fire stories? in the late evenings! How they wandered the main street watching bikes and people until their legs hurt, how they listened to engine sounds and rock'n'roll until the rising sun started a new day. It was like the Disneyland, only better.
There will be some memories from Tridays and FIN-RUN, which we will never forget. First Kevin Carmichael, who took one of our members (Go Salla, GO!) to his show as an assistant. Holy macaroni, that was really something else!
Then building the FIN-BAR, which was great fun and really brought the group together. And not to forget the opening ceremony, where we could proudly wave our flags as we felt welcome by thousands of Triumph riders around us.
But like in any good show, the fun is not over until the fat lady sings. Or in this case our band Wild Willie and The Big Deal. Their path started a bit rocky, as they landed to Austria without instruments and only some minutes time to prepare their first gig at the Uptown stage. But they were awesome.
So awesome, that Uli asked the band to take the main stage as the final act to complete the Tridays. And I believe, that the show was one of the best we have ever seen.
On behalf of FIN-RUN I would like to thank you for everything. Your patience, friendliness and interest to us was overwhelming. There are not so many German words that I know, but I know DANKE and I truly mean it.
Best Greetings from Finland & see you next year,
Matti Koho & FIN-RUN group & Triumph Club Finland
